Tilda's Dream Journals

I've been wanting to make some journals, and I found a few challenges that I thought would help inspire me to do them.

First, there's a challenge and Guest DT call on the Friday Sketchers Blog. They had a sketch (of course) and put out a call for a Guest Design Team member. They wanted you to make something with one of their sketches, so here's my shot.
Second, was a new challenge blog I came across, all about Magnolia stamps - which I totally adore. You can find this blog here. Their theme was Pink and Green. So, I already wanted to use dreamy Tilda - she's perfect for a journal. I had needed a color theme - and Chloe (my 3yo daughter) wanted to help mommy pick out papers - and without any urging, she chose the pink and then the green. It was fate.
Third, was another cool challenge blog. They have a requirement that you will only be entered into the drawing if your creation is for them alone... so, I decided to make 2 journals (one for this challenge alone - and the other for the rest). Stamptacular Sunday's challenge was to use a charm on the project. That was an easy peasy one - I always put a charm on a ribbon or fiber to use as a place-holder in my journals. I put an extra one on the front of both journals tied to those fibers too.
Oh, the inside pages are basically half a sheet of 8.5x11 cardstock (which I buy in bulk on sale at HL). I have a template set up to print the lines, and I just run the half sheets right through my printer (on both sides). Tilda's are colored with copics, the covers are done with papers from the new DCWV stack. I used some of my SUPER DUPER AWESOME FAVORITE PAPERS EVER - FUNKY FAIRY PAPERS to mat the tildas, and also for the big center panels - papers from the "Just Hanging Around" set. Inside the covers, I used papers from the "gorgeous gingham" set from Funky Fairy. Go to Funky Fairy now!! Run! I used the leftovers after cutting out the mats to punch little flowers, then stickled the flowers for lovely shiny effect. All was attached with the Bind it All (another great investment). Hmmm... I think that's everything.
I hope you enjoy, I really love making these journals.

Brilliant idea Diana . . I really should use my Bind-it-All a lot more than I do. Love the Tilda images you have used.

Have a great weekend,

Hi Diana,

I just love making journals and you've done a marvelous job! Isn't it fantastic to be able to take a "plain Jane" and create something spectacular? I love when it works out that way!

Fabulous job!

Thanks for playing along with us this week! Hope you'll join us again for some more challenge fun!
