Birthday Fairy

This is another one of those cards that I started out loving it. Then I got mad at it... but by the time it was all finished, I adore it. Obviously, you're looking at the front and inside.

We'll start with the awesome sketch by the talented Katharina on this blog (#25, 4/8post). These challenges require a Whiff of Joy stamp. Easy peasy, I love WOJ.

I also used this card for this challenge - to create a fantasy. Fairies are totally fantasy!

I also used this card for this free for all challenge - include a fairy! (4/8post)

Oh, and this challenge - to decorate the inside!

This was a really fun challenge. At first, I wanted to use a piece of paper from my DCWV 'Once Upon a Time' stack. It had glittery flowers and fairies on it. I tried two or three different ways to silhouette one of the fairies in the paper and still have the four panels, but it just wasn't working right. Soo, I knew I wanted to sew the four blocks down. I sewed them onto a piece of Papertrey paper with zigzag stitch.

I attached Charlotte fairy to a piece of the same green PTI paper - I thought it matched the green in the leaves well. I thought the pink PTI paper looked great to use for accents - I stamped the Hero Arts border stamp on the pink paper and trimmed around it (am I the only crafter left with no scalloped border punch?). Then I put a strip of ribbon across the pink paper. I used the pink paper to mat my sentiment... I had to print my sentiments out. I like funny cards ;) The little pink/white flowers on the inside were punched, then put through the cuttlebug with a bubbles embossing folder for some depth and detail. I also used the HA border stamp again - I masked the edges so it wouldn't overlap and put the flowers in the corner to catch the missing bits...

All in all, I think she's a cute patootie!

ENJOY!
