just dreamy

Alrighty then! My card for today ... just dreamy dahlin'!

This was inspired again, by 2 challenges. One is the MFT Idol contest - here at SCS. The other is the Copic challenge - you can find it here.

So we had to mask for the Idol challenge, and the CCC5 was a painting to be inspired by. When I thought of masking, I thought of putting this dreamer in the grass... And the scenic painting I thought exemplified that well enough. Then I just had to execute my plan.

This was a trial and error and trial and trial and error and error and error and trial and give up it's good enough! I used the girl from the 'bcdzyns dreamin' set. She's supposed to be sitting in a chair at a counter or something, but I wanted her laying in flopsy's grass, daydreaming. So, I stamped her, then I cut around JUST HER. I stuck her down temporarily and went to put the grass down. This is where most of those t&e's happened!

I didn't have a green ink pad that would make pretty grass... eventually (after my third sheet of ruined cardstock - like 4 or 5 tries per sheet) I finally decided to just stamp it with the palest brown I had. Then I messily traced around it with a black drawing pen. It is GRASS, it isn't supposed to be PERFECT. Then I took most of the greens I had and colored over the different grass tufts. I used my copics, of course. I also took my favorite one and put a light coat over all the grass to blend the greens together, then I went lightly over all the grass with my blender pen to mottle everything and lose any stray marker lines. (LIST OF COPICS USED FOR THIS CARD: E00, E11, E21, R29, RV10, Y21, YG23, YG67, YG95, G21, G28, G85, G94, G99 & blender. -- the hair was Y21 highlighted with E11 -- skin was E00, E21, E11, RV10)

Part 2 - I wanted a sky... I was working off my inspirational painting (found in the copics colour challenge 5) that had a yellow and blue sky, so I mimicked that with fluid chalk pads - sponging style. After that, I finally took up my girly mask. Then I put the part of the stamp that I'd orginally cut out around the girl and stuck it down, then stamped just the girl - lying in the grass. (If that hadn't worked right I probably would have cried.) Then I colored her with my copics. Stamped the bubble and cloud and sentiment, then put them on pop dots.

Oh, and the mat was also inspired by the painting that CCC5 put forth.

I hope she makes you feel dreamy ;)

enjoy
